Based on 20 years of innovation, Cisco 1800 Series Integrated Services Router is optimized for data-access applications, providing small-to-medium sized businesses and small branch offices with the complete functionality and flexibility to deliver secure Internet and Intranet access. The integrated services routing architecture of the Cisco 1800 product family builds on the Cisco 1700 Series Multiservice Access Routers by offering more than a fivefold performance increase, dramatically increased performance with high-speed WAN-interface-card (HWIC) slots that support new HWICs such as the 4 port EtherSwitch HWIC. A wide range of connectivity options is provided with AIM, HWIC, and VWIC modularity, as well as investment protection through the support of more than 30 existing 1700 Series WAN interface cards (WIC/VIC/VWIC data mode only).

The integrated services routing architecture of the Cisco 2800 product family builds on the Cisco 2600 Series Multiservice Access Routers and adds embedded security processing, significant performance and memory enhancements, and new high-density interfaces that deliver the performance, availability, and reliability required for scaling mission-critical business applications in the most demanding enterprise environments. Cisco 2800 Series Integrated Services Routers are designed to meet both performance and density requirements for the delivery of secure, concurrent services for midsize businesses, small and medium-sized enterprise branch offices, and service provider managed services applications without compromising router performance. Powered by Cisco IOS Software, the Cisco 2800 Series supports the Cisco Self-Defending Network with advanced security services and management capabilities such as hardware encryption acceleration, IPSec VPN (AES, 3DES, DES), firewall protection, inline intrusion prevention (IPS), Network Admission Control (NAC), and URL filtering support. The intuitive, Web-based Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) is pre-installed on all Cisco 2800 Series products to help simplify management and configuration.

The integrated services routing architecture of the Cisco 3800 product family builds on the powerful Cisco 3700 Series Multiservice Access Routers and adds embedded security processing, significant performance and memory enhancements, and new high-density interfaces that deliver the performance, availability, and reliability required for scaling mission-critical business applications in the most demanding enterprise environments. Cisco 3800 Integrated Services Routers support the bandwidth requirements for multiple Fast Ethernet interfaces per slot, time-division multiplexing (TDM) interconnections, and fully integrated power distribution to modules supporting 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE), while still supporting the existing portfolio of modular interfaces. This helps to ensure the delivery of continued investment protection to account for network expansion or changes in technology as new services and applications are deployed.

The Cisco 7600 Series Router delivers robust, high-performance IP/MPLS features for service provider edge and enterprise MAN/WAN applications. Coupled with various interfaces and innovative adaptive network processing technology, the Cisco 7600 Series provides integrated Ethernet, private line, and subscriber aggregation capabilities. The Cisco 7600 Series is a natural evolution for existing Cisco 7500 Series customers, with Cisco IOS Software feature parity and FlexWAN support for existing Cisco 7200/7500 Series port adapters. The Cisco 7600 Series also offers multigigabit capacity per slot, various form factors, and advanced optical service modules for high-performance service delivery. Intelligent Ethernet broadband aggregation, powered by the multiprocessor WAN applications module, delivers Ethernet Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) access concentrator or high-density L2TP network server subscriber services on the Cisco 7600 Series.
